Shikho started in 2022 from a single insight: Bangladesh's BCS quota system is district-first, but every prep platform ranked candidates nationally. We built the platform that measures you against the competition that actually matters — your own district pool.
Founder Story
Shahir Chowdhury
CEO & Co-Founder
Shahir Chowdhury prepared for BCS during his final years at university in Dhaka. He used the same nationally-ranked platforms that every aspirant used — and felt perpetually behind, sitting at rank 180,000-something in a national pool. Discouraging by any reading.
The shift came when he connected with other aspirants from his home district and started comparing notes. The realisation: BPSC allocates cadre slots by district quota. The competition that determined his actual selection probability was a few hundred people in his district — not 400,000 candidates nationwide. He had spent months measuring himself against the wrong benchmark.
He co-founded Shikho in Banani, Dhaka in 2022 to solve that gap — a prep platform that shows you your district rank, updates your MCQ bank every Monday against the current BPSC syllabus, and lets you take timed 200-MCQ mock tests structured exactly like the real preliminary. Shikho does not guarantee a cadre placement, and we do not claim to replace the full study effort BCS demands. We give you a honest, district-calibrated picture of where you stand — the rest is yours to do.

Everyone on the Shikho team has lived the BCS prep experience. That keeps us from building features that look good in a pitch deck but don't survive the bus ride to coaching class.

Every feature is built around Bangladesh's 8 divisions and 64 districts — and the BPSC district-quota system that shapes cadre selection. We are not a generic South Asian edtech platform. We don't sell coaching centre spots or coaching class referrals.
MCQ bank and mock test structure mirrors the current BPSC preliminary format — 200 questions, 60 minutes, 10 subjects with exact mark allocation. When BPSC changes the structure, we update within 48 hours.
MCQ bank refreshed every Monday with new questions drawn from BPSC question-pattern analysis of 43rd, 44th, and 45th BCS. No recycled answer keys from 2018.
